I’ve been looking for a great shower head for years, I’d never heard of this brand until I saw it written up in the New York Times—I ordered it immediately. I love this shower head and shower spray (four way). It is very substantially and sturdily constructed and is also stylish. It offers great spray from the shower head and from the handheld. Having a flow control button on each unit makes for quick and convenient changes in use. Though more expensive than brands sold in big box home improvement stores, it delivers an outstanding shower experience that’s worth every penny. Buy it, you won’t regret it.

This is a review of the 4 way unit with shower (1.5 gpm) and hand-held (1.8 gpm).
This would be a 5 star review except for one thing: as the Wirecutter review pointed out, getting the hand-held in and out of the holder is a bit harder than one would like — it is a two hand operation with one hand holding the flexible tubing and the other holding the head. I also think the shape of the hand-held (simple circle versus more of a paddle) might be a bit awkward for folks with less hand-strength as it is a bit heavier than the plastic ones. If I had a wall that would support it, I would definitely opt for the wall mounted holder as that might be easier to deal with.
Other negatives are very minor: it is a bit nosier and it does flick a small amount of water spray outside the ideal pattern (as example, I have to close the shower curtain while it heats up, whereas with my old shower head I did not).
This is all outweighed by the positives. Firstly, the water pressure is great and provides a very nice coverage. I think I could have gotten by with a 1.25 and 1.5. Positioning the shower head on its ball joint is easy. Various reviews say that plastic is fine for shower heads but with the ongoing news about micro-plastics in our blood, why add more? One of the nicest features are the two shut-off valves, one for each shower head. These work perfectly and you can lower the amount of water coming out quite easily to get a flow you like. Finally, though these are double the cost of various other shower and hand-held combos, I am glad to be able to support a US business that makes a good product (though I wish the warranty was longer).

I think this is the best shower head combo I’ve experienced thus far. Easy to switch and regulate water flow (it’s a continuous movement so you adjust the flow from a trickle to full force). The handle on the free holding head feels sturdy and I like the fact that it’s customizable with the accessories provided by the company. Definitely feels worth the premium cost!

Very solid quality and works really well. I love the ability to toggle water on and off at the fixture. The only item that would be nice would be an added option to increase the hose length. The current length is plenty for normal usage but an added foot would be helpful when washing the dog in the tub. I had been stubbornly holding on to my antique all-metal showerhead that came with my house because it was “luxurious” with the amount of water it blasted on me, but when you can drain your entire (brand new) 50 gallon hot water tank with a single 10 minute shower, something has to give. I don’t live in an area with any water scarcity, but I do want to be able to take longer showers.
I’m happy to say that my quest for longer showers without sacrificing luxury is complete. Having just one of the combo heads going feels every bit as pleasant, and rinses every bit as well as my 5+GPM antique shower head. Having them BOTH open is a new level of luxury.
I’ve had my new showerhead for about 3 weeks now, and I’m sold. If and when I move, I’m bringing my showerhead with me.

Best upgrade for our shower! Amazing fit and finish, made in the USA, and very easy install. Reminds us of our favorite national park to boot. We bought another one for our second shower. They help save on our water bill and conserve water as we are in the midst of a multi-year drought here on the West Coast. High Sierra beats everything at the big box store or imported models from a certain online retailer hands down and we’re happy to support American manufacturing.

This is my ~5th shower head I have bought from High Sierra Shower heads and installed. First, I love them. I got one for myself at our rental apartment when I noticed that the water was running out too quickly. I then got one for the cottage, and two for my my mother’s home (when she heard me raving about them). I now replaced my original single shower head in our rental apartment for this dual one, and it feels like utter luxury. I will be installing the same combo in our cottage next.
What I like about the combo: you can run one at a time or both. It still saves water when you want to. And, it still sprays large like a raindrop shower spray which feels so good. My wife and I also like that the two shower heads are at a different hight from each other, which can give you options for spray angles.

I received mine earlier this week, and with a small snag regarding one part I called in and had a replacement just three days later! So glad I bought direct from high sierra, their customer support was legendary! Best part was the one part I described wasn’t even vital, so I could still use my half dome until I was ready with all the parts.
I got the 1.5 gpm and while I waited on shipping I grew concerned about how it would compare to the 2.0 gpm head my apartment had when I moved in, and I’m happy to report that it feels like there’s more than two of those old shower heads could have given me!

This is an incredibly high quality shower head. The metal machining feels like it will last a lifetime! Note that depending on your water temperature the shower head can get hot (have not noticed this on the hand held handle).
I have the 1.5gpm nozzle on each. The spray from 1 nozzle fills my shower, and I’ll use both at times if I want the extra water (but seriously, 1 is plenty!). I notice that my shower fills up and stays warmer – my older shower head would take the heat with it down the drain. You might get some more steam than you’re used to due to how the droplets spray vs. other shower heads. I like it better!
If you’re considering it and currently have a low quality plastic shower head, do yourself a favor and get this. Like a good mattress, pair of shoes, or car tires, it’s worth the investment for something you’ll use and enjoy every day.

We bought the 1.25 GPM showerhead on Amazon and were so happy with it that we decided on an upgrade to the combination showerhead. The 1.25GPM version wasn’t available for shipping within California (I think it needed to be certified.) Since we already had the 1.25GPM main showerhead, the folks at High Sierra were kind enough to modify a combo package to ship without the redundant head.
The 1.25GPM feels more powerful that the old 1.5GPM big-box showerhead that it replaced!

I have used Sierra shower heads for years. They are very well made, work perfectly, and are very durable. My initial impressions of this “combo”‘ are equally favorable. If you are tempted to get the Amazon installation package for this item, don’t. It is easily installed; you only need a crescent wrench. If you don’t have one, it is much cheaper to purchase it than the package–plus, you now have a crescent wrench.
